What we do
Through our services transformation programme we have moved many of our Primary Care Support services online, including: ordering medical supplies, tracking patient’s GP records, Performers List applications and Ophthalmic GOS payments. These services are now hosted on PCSE’s online platform, PCSE Online.
The launch of these online services is a key part of our work to digitally transform all the services we provide on behalf of NHS England and helps ensure that our customers experience streamlined, faster and more efficient services.
In a digital age our service users and patients have benefitted from these services moving online.
GP Practices have a single, user friendly digital platform to easily manage their Primary Care support functions. Practices order medical supplies via PCSE Online, and this faster online service provides visibility and tracking, replacing the previous service which involved ordering via fax, phone, post and email.
A national courier network for transporting patient GP records enables records to be moved faster around the country with the additional functionality of being tracked. The courier also delivers practice's supplies.
GPs can update their Performer record electronically, providing visibility which helps when managing pension contributions, moving to a new practice or becoming a partner or locum.
For the Ophthalmic community we ensure that practictioners are able to practice by processing their applications to join the Performers List. We manage their Continuing Education Training claims each year and work closely with practices to improve how they are being paid.
Opticians can now claim for NHS eye care electronically, making it easier to reconcile payments, providing more visibility on the easy to use system. Claims can be tracked from submission to payment.
We ensure dental practitioners can provide NHS care to patients by processing their applications to join the Performers List.
Dental practices use PCSE Online to order NHS stationery supplies, which are delivered via our national courier network.
The pharmaceutical community use our web-based option to submit, track and view application online. an initial application to open a new, to changing ownership to distance selling. From 31 March 2021 consolidation applications will be processed through our online system.
Pharmacies order NHS stationery and supplies via PCSE Online.
