September 2017 cohort
Preparation is currently underway for managing applications from the September 2017 cohort of foundation dentists.
All foundation dentists who graduate in the summer can carry out NHS work once they have submitted their NPL1 and certificate of completed training (CCT) to PCSE.
This guide will be circulated to foundation dentists via Health Education England.
Hints and tips for ensuring a smooth application process
It is a continued priority of NHS England and PCSE to ensure that all applications are processed as quickly as possible.
The process for reviewing and admitting new performers to the performers list involves many parties and is dependent on the supply of the correct supporting information. If there are any issues, such as incomplete or missing documents with the application checks, this will cause a delay to the process.
We would appreciate the support of dental practices and the BDA in sharing this important information with foundation dentists.
Outstanding performer list change requests (including changes to status, home address or practice) where the full information required has been provided have been processed.
If you are, or have been, contacted to provide additional information, please can you provide this as quickly as possible to enable the request to be processed. NHS England has agreed that where information has been requested and not received, three reminder communications will be sent. After this point, PCSE will be required to close the change request.
The process for making changes to a performer’s inclusion on the National Performers Lists involves a number of parties. The time taken to process a change varies according to type of request, and is highly dependent on the supply of accurate supporting information from dental practices, performers and NHS England local offices.
Based on feedback from practices, we have created a guide to the various types of change notifications and the supporting information required from each party.
To make it simpler for dental practices to know who to contact in PCSE for what, a new enquires form is now available on the PCSE website here.
The form contains all the required fields PCSE will need to process your query. Selecting the ‘type of enquiry’ ensures your query gets directed to the right team as quickly as possible.
