2019/20 Pensions Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Policy

The 2019/20 Pensions Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Policy window is open from Monday 2 August to Friday 1 October.

As a GP your application form for the 2019/20 Pension Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Policy will need to be endorsed by PCSE before it can be processed by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA).

PCSE is accepting application forms for endorsement in application windows. The current application window is now open from 2 August 2021 to 1 October 2021. 

If you’re unable to submit your application form before the end of this application window, there will be another application window from 13 December 2021 – 11 February 2021.

If you have recently retired and you submitted your application form during the first application window in March 2021 which was for retiring GPs, you do not need to apply again. If you were advised to submit your application form in March 2021 but were unable to do so, you should now submit your application.

If you have tried to submit your application form between April 2021 and August 2021 this will not have been processed. Please resubmit your form now.

Retiring after 31 March 2021

You will need to download the 2019/20 Pensions Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Scheme application form from the NHS England & NHS Improvement (NHSEI) website.

You should complete the form and submit to PCSE via our dedicated online form for the 2019/20 Pensions Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Policy, which you can find on the contact us page. . This application window is open between Monday 2 August and Friday 1 October 2021.

Completed applications received during this application window will be validated by PCSE, then sent to NHSBSA to be processed. A copy will also be sent to you for your records.

The NHSBSA will contact you once your validated application form has been processed.

Please note, the 2019/20 Pension Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Scheme is available to clinicians who have an annual allowance charge for 2019/20 and use scheme pays to pay this charge. You must also submit a scheme pays eection (SPE2) form to the NHSBSA to apply to use scheme pays. Complete this online form with contact details and GMC number, and upload your completed Compensation scheme application form.

You can review the form and save a copy for your records, before you press submit.
