2019/20 Pensions Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Policy: GP Applications

As a GP your application form for the 2019/20 Pension Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Policy will need to be endorsed by Primary Care Support England (PCSE) before it can be processed by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA).

The second window for GP applications ran between Monday 2 August 2021 and 1 October 2021. Forms received during this window are now being processed and will be sent to NHSBSA during the autumn. 

The third GP application window will open on the 13 December 2021 and close on the 11 February 2022. This will be the final application window for GPs to submit their Pensions Annual Allowance Compensation Scheme application forms to PCSE for processing ahead of the scheme deadline on 31 March 2022.

Please ensure you have submitted a scheme pays election for 2019/20 to NHSBSA before submitting your application to PCSE. Visit the NHSBSA annual allowance webpage to download a scheme pays election form.

Retiring after 31 March 2021

You will need to download the 2019/20 Pensions Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Scheme application form from the NHS England & NHS Improvement (NHSEI) website.

You should complete the form and submit to PCSE via our dedicated online form for the 2019/20 Pensions Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Policy, which you can find on the contact us page. . This application window is open between Monday 2 August and Friday 1 October 2021.

Completed applications received during this application window will be validated by PCSE, then sent to NHSBSA to be processed. A copy will also be sent to you for your records.

The NHSBSA will contact you once your validated application form has been processed.

Please note, the 2019/20 Pension Annual Allowance Charge Compensation Scheme is available to clinicians who have an annual allowance charge for 2019/20 and use scheme pays to pay this charge. You must also submit a scheme pays eection (SPE2) form to the NHSBSA to apply to use scheme pays. Complete this online form with contact details and GMC number, and upload your completed Compensation scheme application form.

You can review the form and save a copy for your records, before you press submit.
