Pensions Year End 2019/20

If you are a Type 1 or Type 2 Practitioner you are required to complete and submit either a Type 1 Annual Certificate of Pensionable Profits or a Type 2 Medical Practitioner Self-Assessment of Tiered Contributions Form each year by the 28 February deadline.

Please note: Pension records can only be updated sequentially. This means that, if any certificates from previous years are missing, the most recent years will not show on the system. For instance, if a certificate is missing for the year 2015/16 then the ABS will only reflect the pension figures up until 2015, even if the certificates for more recent years have been submitted. Therefore if you are aware of any previous years are missing certificates, please submit the appropriate form for the missing year. 

NHS Pensions has confirmed that the following pension forms and associated guidance notes have now been published and are available to download from the NHS Pensions website. 

  • Type 1 GP and non-GP providers Annual Certificate of Pensionable Profits (partnership / single-hander) 2019/20
  • Type 2 Type 2 Medical Practitioner Self-Assessment of Tiered Contributions Forms 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 

 Also available is: 

  • GP and non-GP providers Annual Certificate of Pensionable Profits (limited company) 2019/20 
  • Type 2 medical practitioner amnesty form - for years 2009/10 to 2014/15 only
  • Type 2 medical practitioner amnesty form - for years 2015/16 and 2016/17 only

 Available soon: 

  • Estimate of NHS pensionable profits / pay form 2021/2022

All forms should be submitted to PCSE via the relevant enquiry form on our Contact Us page

Simply go to: www.pcse.england.nhs.uk/contact-us/ and select ‘GP Pensions’ from the dropdown list.

Complete the information requested, and upload document(s) when prompted. You can upload up to 8 documents in one submission. The maximum individual file size is 3.1 mb.

Once successfully submitted, you will receive an email confirming the submission with a case reference number you can use to follow up on the case if needed.
