Important message for New Ophthalmic Performers

From 1 July 2021 onwards, applicants who wish to join the performers list no longer have to provide evidence of entitlement to enter and work in the UK.

You will still need to provide your ID documents i.e. passport during the application process.

There are guides on this page to help you with the application process.

Please note, it is the responsibility of your employer to ensure you provide the correct evidence of the right to work and settled status, as part of their employment checks.

Once your application to the Performers List has been approved by NHS England, your inclusion letter will be available immediately to download from PCSE Online.

Once you have been included on the Ophthalmic Performers List, you should enter your GOC number (starting with ’01-‘) in the ‘Performers number’ box in the Performer Declaration section of GOS claims that you complete.

Ophthalmic Medical Performers should enter their GMC number.

Please note the historic Performer List number format that was based on Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) e.g. OPL/01-99999/5D7  is no longer in use, so the only number you need is your GOC (or GMC) number.
