Remedial Pensions Saving Statement (RPSS)
How to check your Pension record on PCSE Online
You can follow the steps below to identify any gaps:
- Log into PCSE Online and go to the Pensions area.
- Click the Type 1 or Type 2 tile, then select the Listing Screen tile and search.
- You will see a list of certificates and their statuses. Look for any years from 2015/16 onwards that do not show as approved.
How do you know that a year is missing?
The listing screens on PCSE Online allow members to see their previously submitted Type 1 or 2 forms.
You can find the listing screen by logging into PCSE Online, select Payments and Pensions, select Pensions, then select the appropriate option, eg Type 1 or Type 2. You can then click on ‘NHS Pension Scheme Annual Income listing’, and this is where you’ll see all current and previous forms.
You can sort the ‘Financial Year’ column to easily check if forms for all years are showing as approved or if any years are missing.
The NHS Pensions system (Pensions Online) can only be updated in sequential order, so if there are any years without an approved certificate, this causes a gap in the member's record.
How do I submit missing certificates?
- Submit missing certificates for 2015/16 to 2022/23 on PCSE Online if possible.
- If you can’t submit online, download the forms from the NHS Pensions website and send them via the Contact Us form on the PCSE website.
- For certificates before 2015/16, use the appropriate amnesty forms from the NHS Pensions website and submit via the same Contact Us form.
- If you need to submit a 2023/24 Type 1 form, download it from the NHS Pensions website and submit it via the Contact Us form.
How do GP Pension Scheme Members apply to buy back remedy period service if they opted out of the NHS Pension Scheme because of the discrimination identified in the McCloud judgement?
GP Pension Scheme Members who wish to apply to buy back opted out service must send their applications directly to NHS Pensions at buybackservice@nhsbsa.nhs.uk. PCSE is not involved in processing these forms, as we do not have access to the payroll details and other information required for the opted out period(s).
