Officer work (T1)

I first joined the NHS Pension scheme as a junior doctor many years ago prior to becoming a GP Principal. Will my ultimate pension pot include both sets of contributions?

Yes, all contributions from Officer and Practitioner membership count towards your retirement benefits.

Are 'officer' payments included in the total pensionable income, even though they do not go on the Type 1 form?

No, officer income is not included for total pensionable pay and should not be recorded on the Type 1 form.

Should any officer pension contributions already pensioned be excluded ?

Officer post pension contributions should not be included on a Type 1 form. Only Practitioner posts should be included.
