EOY - Type 1 Partner

I am a partner in two practices, how do I record my correct income and select the accurate tier Rate?

If you’re a partner at more than one practice with a GMS, PMS, or APMS contract, you’ll need to complete a separate Type 1 form for each practice.

To make sure your tier rate is correct, please include pensionable income from all your practitioner posts when calculating it.

I have been advised I need to declare and submit a pending certificate completed by my accountant. How do I do this?
  • Log in to PCSE Online
  • Go to GP Payments and Pensions → Pensions → Annual Certificate – Type 1.

Find your form

  • Click the Listings Screen button to find the form
  • You can sort by Financial Year so the most recent appears at the top
  • Click the blue link for the correct form
  • Check the details entered by your accountant
  • Confirm the declaration and click Submit

Who completes the Annual Certificate of Pensionable Profits – Type 1?

A Type 1 Certificate is required for: 

  • Partner (in a practice)
  • Partner and solo
  • Partner and locum
  • Partner and solo and locum
What is ascheme employing authority code?

The scheme employing authority code is an organisation's unique identifier in the NHS Pension Scheme.

The key Practice identifier that PCSE requires is the ODS code. This is referred to as the Practice reference number on the Type 1 form.

You can quickly find your ODS code in PCSE Online by following these steps:

  • Log into PCSE Online
  • Go to the Employee Contribution Statement screen
  • Choose the correct financial year and income type
  • Click on the ‘Select Practices’ dropdown – your ODS code will appear there
Can practices that are set up as limited companies submit their GP provider Annual Certificates easily through PCSE Online?

You need to download the limited company certificate from the NHSBSA website using the link below. Scroll to the GP (and non-GP) providers Annual Certificate of Pensionable Profits (limited company) section and click on the plus sign to expand that section:

You can then upload the completed certificate via the GP Pensions Contact Us form, using the link below. Scroll down the page, and select 'New GP Pensions enquiry':
