Rejected Registrations
Rejections - notifying practices about rejected registrations
When PCSE reject a registration this will always be received back into your clinical system via GP Links. If the rejected registration contains a Free Text message, that is entered by PCSE at the point of rejection, and this starts with a numerical code, an email will be sent to the practice main contact providing further information on why the registration was rejected. If the email is not received or the main contact is unavailable please use our Rejections Codes document for an overview of why the registration was rejected. There is an explanation for each numerical code that will be used by PCSE.
Rejections - I have received an email about a rejected patient registration and cannot trace the patient on the clinical system, what should I do?
Emails about rejected registrations are sent to the registered main contact at a practice. In the email subject, check that the practice code relates to the practice you work for. If this isn’t your practice you may need to amend your details in PCSE Online.
If you do work at the practice, please do a full search on your clinical system for the patient using all the details provided in the email. If you still cannot trace the patient, please contact us.
Rejections -the email about a rejected patient's registration has been sent to someone else in the practice, why have I not received an email?
Emails about rejected registrations are sent to the registered main contact at your GP practice.
If you need to change or update your main contacts details please follow the process outlined on this webpage, https://pcse.england.nhs.uk/user-management.
Rejections - can I change the email address that patient registration rejection emails are sent to?
Yes, rejected registration emails are sent to the practice main contact. In order to change this please follow the process outlined on this webpage, https://pcse.england.nhs.uk/user-management.
Rejections - why can't PCSE accept the additional information by phone or email?
Once a registration has been rejected it cannot be amended or processed by PCSE, therefore you will need to make the necessary amendments on your clinical system as explained in the email from us and resubmit a registration via the GP Links.
Rejections - I have received an email from PCSE asking me to resubmit a patient registration even though I have already resubmitted it. What do I need to do?
Rejected registrations are tracked using the patients NHS Number, provided they have one. If they don’t or the original registration was submitted without the NHS number then it is not possible to track the resubmission of a registration.
PCSE are required to chase registrations that have been previously rejected and remain outstanding after 5 working days. Therefore those registrations that originally did not contain a NHS Number will always be chased.
If you have already resubmitted the registration, provided you do not believe it has been rejected again then please disregard the email from PCSE.
