In response to the publication of an independent review by Professor Alice Sullivan that looked at data, statistics and research on sex and gender, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has directed that the process for changing NHS numbers and gender markers for children and young people under 18 is stopped with immediate effect.
PCSE has paused processing gender changes for individuals aged under 18 and is awaiting further guidance from NHS England.
