How to I update my GOC number (Pre-registration optometrists only)?

You can update your GOC number via the 'Home' page on PCSE Online.

Login to PCSE Online and click on the “Update GOC number” button

How do I cancel or reschedule an identity check online meeting?

To cancel or re-schedule an identity check online meeting, please contact your Performers List Liaison Team representative. Their contact details are provided on the original appointment confirmation.

Who do I contact for technical help if I am struggling to complete my online application?

Please contact us via the online enquiry form.

To do this go to the 'Contact Us' page of the PCSE website and select “Performers List” from the drop-down list of subject enquiry types.

Complete the details requested and state in your message that you require technical help with completing your online application to join the Performers List for England

How do I track the status of my application?

You can track the status of any application or change request status on the home screen of PCSE Online.

When the status of your application or change request is updated, you will receive an email notification signposting you to PCSE Online for further information. 

PCSE Online is designed to be user-friendly. However, if you need additional support, visit the Performers Lists page for your profession and download the appropriate user guide.

If you need to contact us for any reason, please quote the unique reference number which was emailed to you on submission of the application.

What are the application statuses and what do they mean?
  • Draft – Not yet submitted
  • Submitted – Application has been submitted into PCSE for processing
  • Undergoing Detailed Checks – Application or change has been submitted and received by PCSE. PCSE will process the request and send through to NHS England for a decision.  When this happens, you will receive an email notification.
  • Under Consideration – Application or change has been processed by PCSE and sent through to NHS England for consideration. You will receive an email notifying you when a decision has been made.

please note: In some cases there may be an additional status of ‘awaiting NHSE response’ and this will be when you as the applicant have rejected the conditions imposed on your application to join the Performers Lists for England.

What should I do if I haven't received any email notifications in relation to my application?

Check your spam/junk mail.  If you still can’t find them, please contact us via the online enquiry form.

How do I update my referee information?

Please contact PCSE via the online enquiry form to update the referee information you originally provided as part of your application.

To do this go to the Contact Us page of the PCSE website and select “Performers List” from the drop-down list of subject enquiry types.

Complete the details requested and state in your message that you would like to change your referee information.

  • If you are replacing a referee, please provide the name of the referee originally supplied in the application which you would like to replace.

Please also provide the following information regarding your new referee:

  • The referee name
  • The referee address
  • The referee telephone number
  • The referee email address
  • Your relationship capacity
  • The length of time you have known the referee
  • The job role the referee relates to
  • Confirmation of whether the referee is a clinical or non clinical practitioner

Please note: by sending the new referee details to PCSE, you are confirming that the referee has consented to be your referee.

Where a reference has not been returned within the required timescale, the Case Handler processing your application may contact you direct to request that you provide alternative referee details.

Why won't my document upload?

Please check the type and size of document you are trying to upload.

File size is restricted to no more than 4MB per file. Please note that if you are trying to upload 5 documents in the certificates page, the size of all these five documents should not be greater than 4 MB per request. 

PCSE Online permits the following file types to be uploaded:

Image file types

.jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .tif, .bmp, .img, .png, .svg

MS Word Document types

.doc, .docb, .docm, .docx, .dot, .dotx, .pdf, .txt

MS Excel Document types

.csv, .xls, .xlsx .

 

If you attempt to upload a document with a (.) OR special characters for example (?<!\.)$.) in the filename this will not upload. Some documents are scanned at high definition. Try using standard definition to reduce the file size.

This is an unsupported file format. Please reload the file without these characters in the file name.

For example:

  • Marjorie.Smith CV.v1.7 – unsupported filename
  • Marjorie Smith CV v1 7 – acceptable file filename
Do I need to include my Enhanced DBS certificate when I submit my Performer List application?

You can submit your Performer List application without the DBS certificate; however, you MUST provide evidence that you have applied for an Enhanced DBS certificate. This is usually the DBS tracking number.

I am a GP Registrar, when do I need to submit my Performer List application?

GP Registrars are asked to submit their application no earlier than 6 months prior to Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and no later than 3 months prior to CCT. When you are ready to apply, you must also select GP Registrar and not GP Performer. This applies no matter how close you are to CCT. You will be able to change your status to GP Performer after CCT.

Please note that as soon as you have been awarded your CCT, you must be included on the England Medical Performers List in order to work in primary care.  It is therefore in your interest to ensure that you apply in sufficient time (as noted above) to avoid any delay in being able to work after CCT.

How do I apply for a Police Check from overseas?

If you have been resident, studied, worked or been abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years, then you will be required to provide a Police Check with your application for each country you have been resident in. PCSE cannot accept your application without a police check if you meet the above criteria, please ensure you obtain this document before submitting your application. 

How do I upload documents in support of my application to join the Performers List for England?

Where you are required to upload supporting documentation via PCSE Online you will be prompted to upload the document. 

Click on ‘Browse’ to search for the document you wish to upload.  Navigate to the relevant document and once you have found the document double click.  Click the upload icon to the right hand side to upload the file to PCSE Online.  A green ‘File Successfully Uploaded’ box will drop down from the top right hand corner to confirm the file has been uploaded.

What are the occupational health certificate requirements for entry to the Dental Performers List for England?

All new applicants to the Dental Performers List must include with their application an occupational health certificate from a Safe, Effective, Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) accredited provider or an NHS occupational provider.

Acceptable providers of occupational health certificates can be found on the following website: https://www.seqohs.org/Accreditedunits.aspx 

Applicants from Scotland and Wales must also ensure that their occupational health certificates comply with these requirements.

What are acceptable forms of photographic ID?

This should be a copy of your current Passport, or where you do not have a passport an acceptable form of photographic ID  as defined on the Disclosure and Barring Service website (eg current Driving Licence Photocard [full or provisional] – UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands or EU).

Is there another way to submit my application to join the Performers List for England?

All applications to join the Performers List for England and supporting documentation are made through PCSE Online.

How do I apply to join the Performers List for England for the first time?

Applications to join the Performers List for England are made via PCSE Online. You will need to register as an applicant in order to access the online application form.

Click here to register.  Where it says “Register as a”, select “Register as a Performers List Applicant” from the drop down menu.  You will then need to enter your details to register as an applicant.  Once registered, you can complete the application on PCSE Online.
